Gary P. Luquette

Mr. Luquette is president of Chevron North America Exploration and Production Company. He assumed this position in April 2006 and is based in Houston, Texas.
Mr. Luquette began his Chevron career in 1978 as a design and construction engineer. Prior to his current position, he was the president and managing director of Chevron Upstream Europe, headquartered in Aberdeen, Scotland. Mr. Luquette has served with the corporation in Louisiana, California, Scotland and in Sumatra, Indonesia throughout his 30-year career.
In 1978, Mr. Luquette graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.
Mr. Luquette is a member of the American Petroleum Institute and former chair of the organization’s Upstream Committee. He also chairs the governing board that oversees four joint industry task forces formed after the Deepwater Horizon tragedy in the US Gulf of Mexico to make tangible improvements in oil spill prevention, intervention and response.
Additionally, Mr. Luquette is a member of the Greater Houston Partnership’s Executive Committee and serves on the board of directors for the United Way of Greater Houston. He previously served as chairman of the Step Change in Safety Leadership Team in the U.K. and served as a member of the United Kingdom Offshore Operators Association council and board, the Industry Leadership Team and PILOT, a U.K. government and industry collaborative forum for addressing major industry issues.
