Senior CenterPoint Energy leader to talk strategy execution with Houston-area executives

HOUSTON, TEXAS, July 25, 2011 - The top strategy executive for CenterPoint Energy will share how most companies get strategy execution wrong at a July 28 luncheon presented by the Houston Strategy Forum.

“It’s not enough to have a brilliant strategy. You need the proper management framework to put the strategy into action,” said Jim Dumler, senior vice president for strategy and business development at CenterPoint Energy. “Managers who can create the right performance frameworks for their strategies lead companies that dominate in the marketplace.”

The Houston Strategy Forum (HSF) is an organization for top corporate executives who gather to help one another solve common strategic issues, said Ravi Kathuria, president and founder.

“No one has all the answers, so we bring together some of the finest minds in business to help us all learn, grow and succeed,” Kathuria said.

As with previous luncheons, Kathuria and the guest speaker will facilitate an interactive, group discussion on the topic. The July 28 luncheon will be from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the HESS Club, 5430 Westheimer. Visitors’ tickets range from $55 to $90. Tickets and additional information are available at HoustonStrategyForum.com. Advanced registration is required because seating is limited.

On Aug. 18, HSF will welcome John Sheptor, president and CEO of Imperial Sugar. And on Sept. 29, Jim Compton, executive vice president and chief revenue officer for United Airlines, will address the organization.

The Houston Strategy Forum is sponsored by Agama Advertising, Cohegic Corporation and CyrusOne.
